About this project
On April 20, Endemol Shine Group and Endemol Shine Netherlands celebrated an iconic Dutch holiday while fundraising for a noble cause; the first ever King’s Day Market at the Amsterdam office!
We collected funds for our partner Computer Aid, a global charity that provides reconditioned IT equipment and internet access to isolated communities throughout the developing world. The funds raised went towards a Zubabox, a mobile, solar-powered internet hub made from a recycled shipping container, in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. The Zubabox gives thousands of displaced people a chance to reach out to the rest of the world, access online training and education courses and begin to rebuild their lives for when they leave the camp.
The market featured a traditional King’s Day flea market in addition to games, workshops, an auction, good food and drinks and other surprises. Items that were not sold on the day of the event went to the charity Terre des Hommes, an organisation dedicated to the fight against child exploitation.

The first ever Endemol Shine King’s Day market was a huge success! We had an array of various activities, including traditional Dutch games, a flea market and an auction, which together amassed a considerable cash donation. Cannot wait for next year!
