About this project
Endemol Shine Australia have a monthly BBQ with a gold coin donation to a charity of choice.
In January, we decided to forward all donations to a foundation that supports victims and families most in need after a tragedy occurred in Melbourne Bourke Street. With the donations from staff, we could provide support to bereaved families and those who were hospitalized as a result of the incident. In total, we raised $188.55 in donations.
In the following two BBQs in February and March, Endemol Shine Australia have raised a combined total of $314.35. We decided to contribute this sum to Endmeol Shine’s global partner, Computer Aid. The donations will bring us one step closer to funding a ZUBABOX; a mobile, solar-powered internet hub made from a recycled shipping container that provides connectivity and access to new technology, even to the most isolated and remote communities around the world.
In May, Endemol Shine Australia held a Morning Tea to raise funds towards Cancer Council Australia. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a chance for Australians to get together and raise money for those affected by cancer. 1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. With the donations raised, we could help make a difference in helping to fund Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention and support service programmes. In total, we raised $261.45.
In June, Endemol Shine Australia held a monthly BBQ to raise funds for our employee Kelsey Clohossey, who is participating in an event called City2Surf, a running event held in Sydney, Australia. Participants are required to run a 14km course. It is a ‘fun run’ as well as a race, attracting both competitive runners and community participants who can choose to run or walk. Kelsey will be running to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia. We raised a total of $184.23 which will help to provide support for clinical trials research to treat, prevent and cure breast cancer for all.
